Preface - Cricket is one of the most popular games in the world. Cricket is first time introduced in the mid of 16th century in South - East England. First test format of cricket was played in Melborne, Australia on 15 March 1877 between Australia and England.  Male one day world cup was introduced in 1975 and T-20 world cup was introduced in 2007. In this article, will discus about the cricket world cup in detail.

1. When did the first Male one day world Cup start - 

First Male one day world cup was played in 1975 at England. The final match of 1975 world cup was played between West Indies and Australia. West Indies team bat first and scored 291/8 and Australia team was all out at 274 while chasing West Indies. West Indies has won the match by 17 runs. 


2. When did Indian Cricket team win the World Cup - 

India has won the one - day world cup for two times- 

Cricket World Cup - 1983 - Final match was played between India and West Indies on 25 June 1983 at England. The captain of Indian team was Kapil Dev and the captain of west Indies was Clive Lloyd. India bat first and scored 183 and West Indies tom got all out at 140 while chasing India . And Indian team won the match by 43 runs. The player of tornament was Mohinder Amarnath. 


Cricket world Cup 2011 - Final match was played between India and Srilanka at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai.Srilanka won the toss and chose to bat first. Srilanka bat first and scored 274/6 , Indian team scored 277/4 while chasing and won the match by 6 wickets. India became the first country to win world cup at home ground by winning 2011 world cup at Wankhede stadium. The captain of Indian team was MS Dhoni and Captain of Srilanka was Kumar sangkara. 



3. Facts about Cricket World Cup - 2019 - 

Cricket world cup 2019 was 12 th ICC world cup hosted by England and Wales. England won the final match and became the second country to win world cup at home soil.

First Match - South Africa vs England - 30 May 2019 
England won the match .

Final Match - England vs New Zeland at Lords , England 
England won the match. Cricket was originated in South - East England for the first time but England didn't win any world cup before 2019. England won the world cup for the first time in 2019. 

Player of the tournament - Kane Williamson, player and captain of the New Zeland Cricket team

Man of the match in final - Ben Stokes , England 

Golden Bat Award - Rohit sharma won the golden bat award .

Australia became the first team to win three consecutive world cups in 2007 after winning the world cup of 1999 , 2003 and 2007. Australia won the world cup for 5 times in  1987 , 1999 , 2003 , 2007 and 2015. India won two world cups in 1983 and 2011.

6. When did first T - 20 world cup start - 

First T - 20 world cup was played South Africa in 2007 . The final match was played between India and Pakistan. Indian captain was MS Dhoni and the captain of Pakistan team was Sohaib Malik. India won the match by defeating Pakistan. India bat first and scored 157-5 , Pakistan team got all out at 152 runs while chasing India. And India won the match by 5 runs. Shahid Afridi was the man of the match. 


7. When  did India win the T - 20 World Cup -


India won the T - 20 world cup for one time in 2007 against Pakistan in  Johannesburg ,South Africa.
